New endevors.

UPDATE: I took the blog down  2 days later. I wasn't happy with the quality of the content. lol.

Today I started up a new blog, The Huffingpaint Post.

It's my take on an Onion type of site. I'm going to have some parody articles on News, Politics, Pop Culture and other topics. I'm also going to dump some other humor articles, including just some batshit insane ideas I have.

One thing to note, is I just found out that "Huffing Paint Post" is a nickname that conservatives like to give to The Huffington Post. It should be noted that I wasn't  aware of this going in, my blog is not targeting The Huffington Post directly or anything (I actually don't mind them). It's mocking all news media: liberal and conservative. I just picked their name to parody, because frankly, it's incredibly easy to parody (The name literally took me 15 seconds to think up).

I can't come up with a witty title for this.

I want to open with sending out my condolences to any people affected by the horrific shooting that happened at the midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, CO.

 ---

I have always been a film nerd. Among some of my earliest memories is when I saw Lethal Weapon 3 in the theater with my parents. I have been a movie goer my whole life. Some times the only time I truly feel happy is at the cinema, experiencing a new film.

This morning I turned on the news, and what I saw has shaken me very deeply. A bunch of fans, extremely excited for the next highly anticipated summer blockbuster, were opened fire on unexpectedly by some lunatic. Lives cut short or completely changed, at a moment when they were happy and just expecting to watch a movie.

I have been to several midnight showings. I have mingled with the folks dressed in costume, discussed my fandom with them. I have sat in the dark theaters, packed with fans who cheer through the whole film. I have been in these situations, which are identical to what was going on in Aurora 5 minutes before the shooter opened fire. It could have happened anywhere, it could have happened to me. It could have happened to anyone.

People go to theaters to be entertained. They go for thrills, excitement, laughs, or many other emotions that the magic of film can produce. Most importantly, people go to have fun. This madman in a gas mask has ruined that. Not only has he so viciously hurt/killed people in that theater, he had changed the climate of going to a movie. Now people will not be able to go to a theater without the thought in the back of their head that this could happen to them.

I know the man that did it was apprehended. He will be brought to justice. All I wish is that the media would stop talking about him. Focus on the victims instead and provide a loving memorial/tribute to them. Just don't give this scumbag any more attention. He wanted to make a mark on history and you are letting him. I know that this film will forever be tainted by him and this horrific event, so stop giving him what he wants.

I know this thing is rambly and shit. I don't care. I have a lot going through my head. I hate that its getting to the point where people can't go anywhere without being afraid of being shot now. I mean, a movie theater? Fuck.

Wise words indeed...

A candy-colored clown they call the sandman. Tiptoes to my room every night.

Time to get all personal and bare my soul to the world for a bit. I've needed something to write on here, and I'm having a shit day at work, so I might as well post something while I'm waiting for someone to answer my email. If you don't want to read someone just getting shit off their chest, then move along to the next post.

I had a dream last night...

Walking around on broken leg.

I realize my last post was very fragmented with lots of really short sentences. I was sitting at the hospital bored out of my mind at the time, trying to write the post on the Blogpress app on my ipod.

Anyway, the day my dad had that prep surgery, the doctors told him that they would have him out by 11am the following day. He actually got out of there at 6pm. We hurried to the hospital for 11, and ended up sitting there for 7 hours. It was so boring. I also hate hospitals, so that whole time was hell for me.

Since we got home, my dad has been doing well, he's able to get around the house on one foot much better than I expected. He's pretty positive about the whole thing, although he is weary of how long the whole process is going to take. He has to have this contraption anchored into his leg for 2-3 weeks. After that they will take it off and put a steel plate and screws in his ankle and then put a cast over it. Then he has another 8-10 weeks to recover.

It's going to be a little rough, but he seems like he is determined to not let any of this get him down.

I'll be back later with a post on my new car I bought a week ago.

Hospital fun

So, my dad broke his ankle really bad. He was sent to the hospital by his doctor for surgery.

They did the surgery yesterday. It ends up that wasn't the actual surgery, it was just prep. He has to come back in 2 weeks for the actual thing. Now he has a big brace contraption installed on his ankle.

I came in to visit him. They said he'd be out by 11AM. All he was waiting on was physical therapy to check on him. Now it's 2PM and therapy has still not come by. We're all getting annoyed. We just want to go home.

Hopefully they get here soon so we can take him home.

*Insert Witty Song Lyric Here*

I'm Back. Baltimore Orioles #1!*

Anyway, I am going to be trying to make more of a conscious effort to post on this blog. My plan is to diversify and post not just about me, but things that interest me: Movies, games, music, comics. Not really reviews, per say, like I did originally. Just what ever comes to mind. I have two articles I am working on right now for tonight.

Also, I'm looking for people that want to join up with Bobbson Productions. When that happens, I will give those people permission to also post on the "company"'s blog.

 *Don't get it?

A little less conversation, a little more action.

This weekend I'm not on call. I have some plans Saturday, but Sunday is completely free. I'm charging my camera's batteries. I have no script. I don't care, I just have to shoot something. P.S. I'm not dead.
